Biodegradable... Drones?

Thats right! Biodegradable Drones! Have some time on your hands and looking to do a Remote Research Project / Internship(you heard that right, it counts as an internship) to put on your resume? Here's your chance!

The goal of this Research project is to create Biodegrable Drones to help prevent plastic waste from going into farmlands, forests, and other enviroments where they shouldn't be!

If you're interested in participating please email Vanessa at vanlopez@csumb.edu so we can get a general idea for how many people are interested!

Imagine a swarm of drones applying much needed amendments to a lush field of nutritious leafy greens. A subset of the swarm experiences a software and mechanical malfunction. They crash into the fields and disperse toxic electronics, rendering the whole field useless. Now the farmer is out of a harvest and we have less nutritious food at the grocery store.

Or, imagine a swarm of firefighting drones that are flying straight into a wildfire to drop their fire retardant payloads. Because they have to fly very close to the fire to be accurate, they burn up, and once they drop their payload they're so light that the high winds make them crash. Their plastic and metal parts contribute to the toxic waste left behind by the wildfire.
